Course Overview
The SPICE: NC Infection Control in Dentistry course is an approved North Carolina Workforce Continuing Education course designed to prepare dental professionals to serve as the designated infection prevention coordinator within a dental practice.
North Carolina Administrative Code (10A NCAC 41A .0206) requires every dental practice that performs invasive procedures to designate at least one on-site staff member who has completed approved infection prevention training.
This one-day, instructor-led course provides current, evidence-based education on infection prevention principles, sterilization and disinfection, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens requirements, safe injection practices, medical waste management, and communicable disease regulations specific to dental settings.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive an official SPICE Course Completion Certificate, satisfying the North Carolina infection prevention training requirement for designated infection control personnel.
Please Note: This course awards a state-approved course-completion certificate. It is not a professional certification or academic degree.
